Jennifer Newman-Gaewsky, M.D.
Board Certified Psychiatrist
I earned my M.D. from Wake Forest School of Medicine, followed by Adult Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
I offer comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and therapy in my practice. For patients who already have a therapist or are only interested in medication management, I am more than happy to provide longitudinal medication management and enjoy collaborating with therapists in the community. I also have experience with a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Family Therapy, and Exposure-based approaches including Prolonged Exposure. I particularly enjoy using targeted therapeutic approaches to treat anxiety disorders in individuals of all ages, including nighttime separation anxiety and sleep-related anxiety in children and adolescents. I have published peer-reviewed articles and presented research on many topics ranging from early detection of mental health conditions, autism spectrum disorder, substance use disorders, and functional gastrointestinal disorders.
Outside the office, I am a proud toddler- and dog-mom who enjoys trying new restaurants with my husband, traveling, and taking advantage of the many concerts here in Music City!
